For a person like me who doesn't have time to look through all 92 pages of this thread, how many new skyscrapers are about to be built in downtown Milwaukee? I think it's about 5 or more right? It seems that the Milwaukee skyline is about to double (visually speaking) counting the last couple of towers that have been completed as well.

If someone REALLY wants to help me out could you list them along with their heights? Thank you.

A few years ago, we were all talking about how rapidly and completely Austin's skyline had been transformed. A few years from now, we may all be saying the same things about Milwaukee.

yes, milwaukee's skyline is making quite the dramatic change so far this century.

black - existing 300+' tower built prior to 2000
bold - existing 300+' tower built since 2000
red - under construction 300+' tower
green - site prep/demo 300+' tower
blue - proposed/rumored 300+' tower

milwaukee's tallest buildings:

1. JCI World HQ - 700'+
2. US Bank Center - 601'
3. NML Tower - 550'
4. 100 E. Wisconsin - 549'
5. The Couture - 507'

6. University Club Tower - 446'
7. Milwaukee Center - 426'
8. 411 E. Wisconsin - 408'
9. City Hall - 393'
10. 777 N. Van Buren - 387'

11. Kilbourn Tower - 385'
12. The Moderne - 348'
13. NML tower - 347'
14. BMO Harris Center - 335'
15. Hyatt Regency - 322'

16.1000 N. Water - 300'

if everything pans out, milwaukee will have doubled its number of 300+' tall buildings so far this century.

and at this point, the only one on the list that above that is a serious uncertainty is the long-rumored JC HQ tower. that's the real game-changer right there.

not bad at all for a modest little rust-belt city that most outsiders don't expect much from. milwaukee is a city on the..... GROW!

I hope Milwaukee continues with this trend of building white skyscrapers. US Bank, The Moderne, The Couture, all so nice.

Marcus Corp. selected to buy Park East land next to theater, high-rise development

Quote:
Katie Falvey, Marcus vice president of real estate, called the award “another step forward in our planned mixed-use development.” Plans for a 20-story development first surfaced in late June, but company officials at the time said the proposal was preliminary and evolving.

“At this time, our vision for Edison Place is still taking shape, but our goal for this site is to develop an exciting multi-use project which could include a Marcus movie theater, residential and office space, restaurants and other amenities, and the potential for Marcus Corp. to headquarter there,” Falvey said Wednesday.

Marcus Corp. could move HQ to Park East corridor development

Quote:
The $119 million Edison Place project would include an eight-screen, 56,400-square-foot movie theater complex at the southern end of the property, 162,000 square feet of residential space and 113,800 square feet of office space, according to documents made public today by Milwaukee County officials. Marcus Corp. hopes to begin construction on the Edison Place project this fall, according to documents it submitted to the county in June.

The 20-story Edison Place project would also include two restaurants that are each approximately 11,000 square feet, a café that is 4,500 square feet and a health club along the Milwaukee River, according to the documents from the county. There will be 297,000 square feet of parking.
IF (and that's a big if) this project happens (they have done this before with this same plot of land), that means it will be rising in sync with the new BMO Harris Financial Center, Couture, 777 Van Buren, Portfolio, 234 Water, and Buck's Arena. Throw in all the infill projects about to happen. That is going to be a lot of cranes in the air. All while tracks for the Blue Line are finally being laid.

Now if only JCI, Nexus, Bookends, Goll Mansion, and Masionic building would join the fun in Brew City.

That's worth a bong hit or two. Wish I was there again.
