WASHINGTON DC: Final Dose through Glowrock's lens

Well, here's the last in a slew of photos I took while out in Washington DC last month. These are mainly of the Kite Festival along the Capitol Mall, the Capitol itself, Chinatown and then Georgetown. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks, guys... It's been so nice being able to have the flexibility in shooting that I've had now with my new D7100! I know full well that 80% of photography is in the eye of the photographer himself, but 20% still comes down to the camera and lenses!

What is the house before the White House? It made the White House look pretty dull! That's a beautiful building.
I love the capital building, it's just awesome, you captured it very well.
All the people flying kites on the mall is a great sight to.

Great, glowrock! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice shots! Washington by Spring is very pretty. I like all those pictures at the Mall and Georgetown. Very interesting buildings, really pretty. Georgetown is very nice, of course.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

.
That would be the Old Executive Office Building. While I agree it is unquestionably beautiful, one of the best in the city, it does look quite out of place with the surrounding area, which led Harry Truman to call it "a monstrosity" that should be torn down. Thankfully he didn't have his way and it is still here.

Agreed. So thankful that President Truman didn't get his way on that one. I think it's a beautiful old building!

Ah, DC in the spring. Nice.

Cool pics. No detour into the capitol? And I'm guessing the scaffolding on the Washington Monument is for the earthquake repairs?

Yes, the scaffolding is for earthquake repairs to the Washington Monument. And no, no detour into the Capitol, Kevin.
