I still really like the size and location of this one. It might create demand for more towers in downtown Hull. Time will tell, but I'm in agreement that this property is a total improvement over the crappy lot it was before construction began...

I go by here a lot when I hit up the dep

I agree that this dark beige with flush windows looks totally gross compared to the passable render. They don't have white pre-cast? Or even off-white? Any building with windows that are flush to the outside wall - no even a centimeter of lip or anything - looks gross.

No one should be trying to make anything blend in with 1970s Brutalism.

There's no shortage of boring concrete buildings in downtown Hull such as the whole Place du Portage complex. I used to work there, even the interior featured lots of concrete!

I currently work a couple kilometres NW from there and the view from my office of downtown Hull is rather boring.

I live in back of this building

Yeah I actually live on Eddy/Hotel-de-ville so I see this new building from my living room window. The North side is gross! But I think the upper roof might be all glass by the looks of it. The South side looks great though. Nice to see new buidlings in the neighborhood. Doesn't look so ghetto anymore lol. Can't wait for the Old Chez Henri to open again. Looks like a castle. There is a new condo going to be built soon at Wellington and Laval.

Looking at the webcam today, and it looks even bigger now, without being completely closed in. The beige isn't quite as crummy looking either...when it's overcast...lol

Yeah, I agree that the beige isn't that bad now especially since the top part is all enclosed with windows. They took the crane down today too.

Was looking at today's webcam shots, and this thing doesn't look so bad now. It will be interesting to see if the surface parking lots to the north will get redeveloped now, with this, and other office buildings being built in Hull.

I'm still waiting for that condo a block or two away to be built and see how that impacts the skyline.
