I like this guy...

nice building. I love the "archology" (Sim city 2000) on the roof.

I LOVE this tower and I love the enclosed restaurant thingy on the roof.
I need to see if I can find some recent construction photos of this tower.

Shun Hing Square

I've been to 2 cities in China (Shenzhen and Dalian) already. I've been in Shenzhen last 2006 and I love their city. I came across this forum to share Shun Hing Square's construction. My chinese friends told me that this particular skyscraper is the tallest in Shenzhen.

Location: Shenzhen, China
Architect: K.Y. Cheung Design Assc.
Year: 1996
Height: 384 meters / 1,260 feet
Stories: 69
About Shun Hing Square:
Shun Hing Square in Shenzhen, China is like an entire city in a single building. Shun Hing Square includes a 5-story shopping mall, offices, apartments, and, on the top floor, a public observatory called the Meridian View Centre.

The spires on Shun Hing Square account for much of the building's height. If you don't measure its spires, Shun Hing Square is 325 meters, or 1,066 feet, tall.

I'd trade this building for anything, anyday! I love it. Why can't Denver get something like this?

More jealousy sets in. The Chinese get all the nice supertalls.

Wow, love the base. It looks so good! The entrance looks like it would dwarf you, like a mouth as if it's going to eat you or something. Definitely need more buildings like this in other parts of the world.

Fast indeed! The only thing that bothers me are those small townhomes all around the site. I mean, come on, this is one of the tallest buildings U/C on earth and there are 3 story shops and apartments?

Anyways, I have a feeling those small buildings will soon be demolished. Those streets look wayyyy too thin to be the perimeter of the site.

Well, the CS would be a totally different case. It was meant to be in a place where everyone could see it but the skyline is still developed well enough so that it doesn't look alone yet stands out. And the low-rises around the Spire don't look the same. And the are its self is already developed to handle a building of that magnitude while the streets around the KFC don't seem to be. Same for the Guangzhou TV Tower, the skyline is being developed but the tower its self is located at the perfect distance from the main skyscraper clusters.

I haven't seen pictures of Shenzhen's skyline but I imagine it's not as developed as Chicago's of Guangzhou's. I could be wrong too.

Wow! Progress! Can't wait to see this tower rise. One of the best U/C towers out there. And it seems like they're going to build at a fast pace because it's already so ahead! Are the two triangular shaped holes inside the eye-shaped layout the cores for this tower?
