Out of curiosity how did Zen get the blueprints to all the buildings in the entire World Trade Center? I thought it would be classified information.

He didn't have the prints of every project, only the ones from Tower One, the Hub and temporarly the Memorial's. His company was invited to bid for fabricating the steel. Later the deal wasn't made and they ordered him to destroy them, he didn't. Saved in the gunsafe, Zen photographed and shared some detailed schematics that should remain as "disappeared". His retirement of the forums still remains as a mistery to me.

PD. Zen didn't post any drawings that could compromise his NDA, so in this case elevation papers remain useless.
Yeah,I figured since I couldn't find them.

He disappeared because he died in a car accident. That was not his fault. He was a pretty good forum member. People still grieve his death on here.

There's nothing wrong with informing people on Zen's fate, but it would be better carried out in PMs, imo.

The above picture is amazing, Carlos. Zen would be very happy to see your collection...

Anyone know why the lights are completely out on two floors?

Also, some information on the slow steel progress as-of-late, there are rumors floating around that DCM was thrown off the job at the International Gem Tower site due to difficulties at 1WTC and 4WTC. Steel erection seems to be continuing, so my guess is that some of DCM's inner turmoils had a play in the slowdown (with the holidays contributing as well).

Just a guess but maybe because they haven't completely installed all the lights on the newer floors

I was referring to the two further down, near 7WTC's roof.

For the record
Tallest buildings

January 03, 2012
By Leigh Kamping-Carder

Quote:
Several developers last year made headway on towers that, when built, are set to surpass the highest points in the current skyline. The most notable, of course, is One World Trade Center, which will be New York’s tallest building when it reaches its full height of 1,776 feet.

The lofty One57 condo tower is slated to become the city’s tallest residential building at 1,000 feet, eclipsing the current residential giant: the 870-foot New York by Gehry at 8 Spruce Street.

Marriott International’s under-construction hotel at 1717 Broadway, which was announced in August, is set to become the tallest standalone hotel structure at nearly 753 feet. Meanwhile, Bruce Ratner’s Forest City Ratner recently unveiled plans to build the largest-ever prefabricated tower, which would rise 32 stories at Brooklyn’s Atlantic Yards.

Priciest office tower

One World Trade Center is not only tall — it’s expensive. Indeed, at $3.2 billion, or $1,250 per square foot, the central structure to go up as part of the World Trade Center’s reconstruction dwarfs the cost of other glitzy office buildings in the city — and the country.

Okay, just a few things I just read on the main website but the spire should begin in the Spring (it'll take 6 months) and also, the beam of light from the beacon will go more than 1,000 feet above the tower, so it'll be shone higher than the Burj Khalifa, and visible from 70 miles+

When it tops out at rooftop level, that'll be good enough for me.

As it is now, it's already reclaimed the lower Manhattan skyline. Everything from here on out is icing on our delicious cake. However, the spire is what will truly set this apart on the skyline as a beacon of New York. It's something that has been lacking down there for a long time.

Come springtime every addition to the spire'll be like waiting for new steel nowadays!

Does anyone know about what time the curtain wall will be topped out? I'd imagine either before or as the spire is completed...

Agreed JD, I was gonna quote that picture and say something along those lines as well. One of the best photos of Lower Manhattan I've ever seen.

Anyone know if the spire will be colored at night? I know Durst has a stake in this building and owns 4 Times Square, and was the developer for 1 Bryant Park which both have colored lit spires at night.
