Abitibi Consolidated Newsprint Mill at Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador circa 2010.
75 metre smokestack and
55 metre boiler structure were imploded 5 years after the mill shut down, a victim of a dying industry. That said, the mill only opened in 1978 and was one of the most energy efficient in the country. If it had its own power supply like the mill in Corner Brook does, it would probably still be limping along today.
