Based on your (walking) experience, do you recommend any particular store or restaurant that we should visit?

I visited the office, I am too old and too ugly to work there. Must be boring job anyway, all they do is watch Manhattan West videos all day.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm sure there will be something you want to check out. New York is a city that needs to be seen on foot to get the true experience. Manhattan West combined with the Hudson Yards next door, will offer more than many cities offer in their entire downtowns.

That it is. I'm sure many people who pass by think the core is the actual building that will rise on site.

I'm more excited about the new steel! And Blue Steel. Always excited about the Blue Steel. And Magnum.

I only wish both MW towers were going up together, to get that WTC under construction vibe. At least we can see 30 Hudson going up though.

they are not pouring up there are they? because the core looks like it's fastened together and is going up in sections. is that correct? of course, we can't see behind the nets at the top, but i've never seen a lift there of the sections, just of other stuff, so i'm not sure.

Patent litigator McKool Smith close to deal for two floors at 1 Manhattan West
Dallas-based law firm has a lease out for 64K sf

By Rich Bockmann
May 23, 2017

Quote:
Patent-litigation law firm McKool Smith is in late-stage talks to lease two pricey tower floors at Brookfield Property Partners’ 1 Manhattan West.
The Dallas-based firm, which made a name for itself in the early 2000s taking on companies like Microsoft and SAP in patent disputes, has a lease out for 64,000 square feet on the 67-story tower’s 50th and 51st floors, sources told The Real Deal.

The asking rent for the space is $108 per square foot, and the lease would run for 16 years.

A spokesperson for Brookfield declined to comment on the deal, and a representative for McKool Smith couldn’t be immediately reached.
McKool would join the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and the National Hockey League, which have already signed on for more than 700,000 square feet combined at the 2.1 million-square-foot tower.

So clearly there's a 4th tower on this lot. Is that residential?

Could be the hotel component that's been discussed.

Ultimately the 7 million-square-foot megaproject will host two supertall office buildings, One and Two Manhattan West; a 62-story residential rental tower known as Three Manhattan West, the rehabilitation of two existing commercial buildings, and a ground-up 30-story mixed-use hotel-condo building, Four Manhattan West.

It's actually a nice little building.

I don't think that map is to scale. They make the park space look huge.

Compared to the surrounding buildings they look about 850-900 feet tall at most.

I know, but why wouldn't the new models reflect that?

Who says it doesn't? You're looking at a model from an angle.
