Looks like that image is linked to DFW Urban Forum so it may not show up if you aren't a member or logged in (just a guess)

One thing about the rendering I'm unsure about is how they're going to make a 31 story building work there, considering that it must be 120 to 150 feet over the height limit for the area. The Pelli tower had to get a variance, and it's significantly shorter than this residential tower.

I believe the Perot proposal, or at least "behind the scenes" work for the Chase bank property.

I looked at DART, so basically when the line to DFW international is open, it wouldn't be a stretch to say you could live in Dallas car free. I looked at the service map, rail goes everywhere relevant and I'm sure sidewalks are in place in neighborhoods around it.

I like.

It is potentially Trammell Crow's project, which is down the street from the Perot project.

Yeah, my mistake. I got my drive-thru, beige colored bank sites mixed up.

The 1401 Elm has started construction: http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/ne...01-elm-st.html

The Butler Brothers redevelopment begins next week: http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/ne...-ready-to.html

The LTV Tower and Statler-Hilton buildings are about to close the deal: http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/ne...r-closing.html

Apartments in Farmers Market are beginning construction in a couple of weeks: http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/20...ion-site.html/

New Uptown apartment tower to start in the next two or three weeks: http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/ne...r-at-hard.html

The redevelopments of the older buildings are going to be a VERY NEEDED shot in the arm for the CBD! That new tower in Uptown will look nice, along with the Crescent development, and the one planned in Victory Park. Good job, Dallas.

Proposed $100M parking garage could plant seed for downtown Dallas park
By ROBERT WILONSKY
Staff Writer
rwilonsky@dallasnews.com

Dallas has spent millions over the years acquiring a downtown parking lot it wants to turn into a park but doesn’t have the $10 million in fertilizer it needs to make the grass grow on Pacific Plaza, which remains little more than a car-crowded slab of blacktop.

Downtown developer Shawn Todd says he’s got a plan that doesn’t just plant a park, but also a sprawling eight-level parking structure stretching over Pacific Avenue that will alleviate the parking shortage in that part of downtown — and bring in a grocery store as well.

The “iconic structure,” in Todd’s words, would be covered with a massive media screen with a digital ticker-tape scroll like the one in Times Square and cost upward of $100 million. He insists he can and will fund the whole thing by himself.

Who knew: Downtown Dallas is running out of empty buildings

More development for West Dallas.

Roger Staubach, Robert Shaw team up on $100M Trinity Groves project

http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/ne...m-trinity.html

Quote:
Dallas real estate developers Roger Staubach and Robert Shaw have joined forces with Phil Romano to build 1,000 apartments in Trinity Groves, which is expected to cost more than $100 million.

The A-list Dallasites are working through their companies -- Dallas-based Columbus Realty Partners and Dallas-based Trinity Groves LLC -- in a 50-50 structured joint venture deal. The developers are working alongside the city of Dallas, which is offering support through its tax increment financing programs as part of Mayor Mike Rawlings' GrowSouth economic development initiative.
