What's your favourite city in Europe?

Would have to be a tie between Paris and London.

Since everyone has mentioned London and Paris, I'll mention one city that is high on my list to visit, with a beautiful city scape, long history, what seems to be a fascinating culture and language, and the oldest metro system on the mainland:

Budapest

I would have to say Berlin. If not Berlin then I'd have to go with Berlin. Otherwise, Berlin.

I would happily live in any of those cities. Berlin and Hamburg would be easier, though, because I actually speak German.

You appear to be fluent in English as well, so Stockholm probably wouldn't be that difficult.

My experiences are still kind of limited, but I would have to say my favorite of the cities I have been to would be Rome. Amsterdam would be second.

until i finally visited paris, that was my favorite city in europe, too.

i lived in prague for 3.5 years, so that's obviously another great one.

krakow also deserves a mention.

vienna was beautiful, but sleepy. maybe appropriately, the exact opposite of berlin in many ways, but looking forward to seeing both again this summer.

For those who prefer smaller towns... you should check out Nessebar, Bulgaria.

It has historical buildings and the town is divided in 2. There is an old part (one of the oldest city in Europe) and a new part. It's also on the Black Sea coast so you will find beaches as well.
The weather is warm and sunny in the summer and it is still mild in the winter.
It actually has a warmer climate (and sunnier) than Milan.

I think that for me, it's Copenhagen. That Hans Christian Andersen magic still somehow lingers, in parts of it, anyway.

while maybe not a favorite, i just came back from tbilisi. lots of subtle charm and mystique, and not many travelers. with some polishing up, tbilisi could be a real gem.
