What is crazy to me is if Austin gets all the proposed buildings constructed at their current height (big if) - we start moving into the just a little smaller than Dallas/Houston/Atlanta conversation and into the Seattle/San Fran skyline size and well well clear of cities like Charlotte and Denver.. Bonkers for a city the size of Austin. I mean, we're 20 years removed from Corpus having a taller building than us

So I got really bored one night and tried to count all the buildings that Austin would have if this (big if) did happen and all the towers were built. Then I compared them to all the towers that Dallas and Houston already have. And this is what I came up with.
Dallas
900 = 1
800 = 1
700 = 3
600 = 6
500 = 9
400 = 12
300 = 10
Total = 42
Austin
1000= 1
900 =
800 = 3
700 =4
600 =4
500 =10
400 =14
300 =34
Total = 69
Houston
1000= 1
900 = 2
800 =
700 = 10
600 = 9
500 =19
400 =17
300 =19
Total = 77
I used Wikipedia so I am still skeptical on some of these numbers but if they are anywhere nearly as accurate Austin might very well be within that Dallas range.
I'm very skeptical by the 10 towers in Dallas with towers ranging in the 300' ft. I haven't tried emporis website. It might be more accurate.
And I also didn't include one of the proposed towers on 4th street that could be a supertall. But what is the most striking to me is that if this all pans out, Dallas would have two towers at 800'+ while Austin would have four towers at 800'+, including the supertall on Red River.
