Fortis Property Group’s1 Seaport is rising as the first large all-glass residential building along the East River waterfront at 161 Maiden Lane. As CityRealty reported in July, the FiDi building was wrapping up foundation work, and it has now begun its 670-foot climb into the downtown skyline. Upon expected completion in 2018, the building will comprise 170,000 square feet, featuring 80 condominiums across 60 floors. Designed by Goldstein, Hill & West, the slender, sheer tower has been dubbed “a modern lighthouse” with its clear and unrivaled exposures on three sides.

Manhattan's Seaport to Get First All-Glass Residential Tower

Quote:
Marketed by developer Fortis Property Group as Manhattan's "oldest new neighbourhood," the historic mercantile buildings of the Seaport have defined the built character of the area for decades. Gleaming glass towers are sprouting up throughout the island, and despite its low-rise brick architecture, the Seaport is not escaping the onslaught of highrise development. Climbing to a height of 204 metres (670 feet), Fortis' 1 Seaport will become the area's first all-glass residential tower.

Name change coming...

Quote:
The 161 Maiden Lane project, however, suffered a blow in September 2015, when developer Jack Resnick & Sons filed a lawsuit against Fortis alleging that the project’s moniker “1 Seaport” ripped off the name of its One Seaport Plaza office tower at 199 Water Street. The two developers settled the lawsuit two months later, with Fortis agreeing to stop using the name after a specified marketing period.

Landau declined to say what the condo tower will be called once he and his associates abandon “1 Seaport.”

1 Seaport embraces life on the water. The 60 story glass tower is a development by Fortis Property Group and consists of 80 units. Because of updated building requirements since Hurricane Sandy, architects have developed thoughtful design to relocate generators, elevator motors, etc, and as a result, 1 Seaport has a unique 2 story entrance with a second floor lobby.

The residences are completed with luxurious finishes such as gold calcutta marble backsplashes, Gaggenau appliances, and grey limestone in the bathroom. The full suite of building amenities includes a port-cochere, fitness center overlooking the water with Brooklyn Bridge views, and a “Water Club” on the 30th floor with hydrotherapy and a pool.

The building has been tremendously popular with only a few units remaining. As of writing this, availability ranges from a 2 Bed/2 Bath asking $2.935M to a 4 Bed/4.5 Bath $17M.

Bring on 80 South Street.

In post #95 or the post above this, the taller tower u/c to the left is 151 Maiden Lane.

The one on the right is One Seaport aka 161 Maiden Lane.

Just so there's no confusion with 151 vs 161 Maiden Lane.

Rendering below is One Seaport.

You can see 151 Maiden Lane rendering below, next to One Seaport.
