It's part of a funeral ceremony – burning "hell money" and paper items (iPad, house with servants, etc.) for the afterlife. Inflation must be really bad in the dead world because everybody burns billions of dollars at a time.

There's so many places to go it feels I haven't actually been anywhere at all. I've been to Bangkok around half a dozen times (both for work and holiday), once to Kuala Lumpur, once to Ho Chi Minh City, a few times to Taipei, a bunch of times to the Pearl River Delta in China (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc) and a handful of trips to other parts of Asia like Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and Busan.
That still leaves some pretty big holes like Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesian, the Philippines, the rest of Malaysia and Taiwan, Burma... not to mention so many places in China and Japan.
I really love Bangkok, Taipei and Tokyo. Seoul is cool too and Beijing and Shanghai both have their charms. The PRD is right next door so it barely feels like I have to travel there. Kuala Lumpur had great food and a lot of potential but it's a bit of a letdown as a city. The only Asian city I've actually disliked was Delhi. I enjoyed my time there (it was for work) but it's just not a very nice place.
