They are building a Starbucks somewhere along there too!

Was in Charlottetown on the weekend and got some pictures. The old Canadian tire building:

The old Tweel building downtown:

Investco expansion. Kinda wish they would have just built a 5 storey building here instead, but they must have not expected the expansion. Either way looks great on that corner!

I was in Charlottetown yesterday and did a double take when I saw this building on lower Queen Street sporting an Electronic Arts logo.

I did some digging on the interweb. Apparently EA bought a local software company a couple of years ago and integrated their operations into their own company. They employ about 80 people at their Charlottetown operations, occupying an entire floor in this building.

This building has been impressively gentrified since I lived in Charlottetown as a kid. If I recall, this building used to belong to a bulk wholesale distributor. In addition to the office space upstairs, Piatto Pizzeria has a storefront presence, as well as a specialty coffee shop - good stuff. If only we could get things like this happening in downtown Moncton..........

It looks beautiful, and I agree with you it would be nice if Moncton could follow suit like this but with the lack of Parking downtown I don't think Moncton would do this. But then again I might be wrong.

Lack of parking? Downtown Moncton has a sea of parking does it not?

Moncton has a bunch of private parking lots but hardly any city owned public parking. They have like 1, maybe 2 parking structure.
Charlottetown's downtown is probably the second best behind Halifax in the maritimes.

Yes, and No I think it's something like 90% of parking that is private, and on Month to Month lease

Yes, and I've notice a few of those private parking lots for sale on the real estate sites for redevelopment purposes.

We need more either private or city owned parking structures that are available for hourly parking instead of Month to Month only.

I'm not sure what this is. Some speculated it is Starbucks but I think the
building which is being built in front of Staples might be it. Anyone know what this is?
