That's the one. I saw the painting on Canada Day and went back the next weekend to pick up a copy.

I never realized how badly Sorel was ruined.

Wow, I had no idea that Sorel was once so beautiful. What a disaster!

Ontario Place....akin, in built form, to Toronto's answer to Montreal's Man-and-His-World (permanent exhibit succeeding the phenomenally successful Expo '67: http://www.worldsfairphotos.com/expo...and-his-world/)

ameriquefrancaise

If there was an inflection point (zenith) of Montreal's heyday, it was the summer of 1967.

Ontario Place looked crazy futuristic for its era, although I guess Canadians were used to seeing that sort of thing after Expo 67.

^ Looks like Export and I were on the same page!

I know those Expo 67 pavilions weren't built to last, but it's too bad that a few more buildings couldn't have been preserved. Expo 67 was before my time but I always wish I could have had a chance to explore the buildings to get a feel for what it would have been like.

Sorry guys, just realized I posted these in the wrong thread. Well they are kind of old skyline pics . It's funny how much the Cinesphere looked like Man-and-His-World before getting it's inner shell.

Side note, The Cinesphere was the first permanent IMAX theatre ever built and it featured a film called "Noth of Superior" when it opened.

Here's another one. I guess the original was taken in the 80's:

Almost all of the buildings in this picture from the late 20s in DT Windsor are long gone. You would never guess that this is the corner of Ouellette Ave. and Riverside Dr. (Formerly Sandwich Street), so sad!

http://archive.lostwindsor.com/2015/...llette-c-1928/

This scene however is still fully intact, surprisingly!
