My largest city was around 800,000 with room to grow, the region was about 1.5 million. No cheats or any modifications other than adding growable buildings. I never plot buildings myself seems like a cheat in my opinion.

Well, I haven't played in a while, but I did get my regional population up to 1.5 million, with my core city Utopia Planitia at around ~475,000 people. All supertall by the way.

My largest city reached a pop. of 12,000 before I was forced to install water systems, then the pipes kept breaking and soon enough I faced Population loss. I never know what I did wrong. Maybe it's the lack of highways and rails at first.

I have a region with a pop of 22,150,662, it's not all land either, there is significant water and quite a bit of industrial. No cheats except for a park that generates money, and a zero polution trash burner. There are no large city plots, all medium and smalls, but most all the mediums are 400k+, at least 6 are 500k+ with the largest being 530,072. I have snapshots but I don't know how to get them into the my pictures folder, if someone can tell me I will post them.

largest city - 220,000
region - 450,000

the city is on the largest plot with room to grow, but my computer sometimes kicks me out of the game because it's gobbling up too much memory.. I save it every 5 mins or so just in case. In the meantime, I'm just building up the region around it.

The largest city I've had in SC3K is one called Rivermania. Absolutely beautiful city with heaps of trees, parks and waterways. My Sims are really happy and land values are really high, but around the edges I get tighter packs of small, less well kept apartments. Although they're by no means horrific, they're not incredible either. Also, it's downtown is REALLY dense.

Rivermania's population always fluctuates, which is really annoying. It will go from 1.8m to 1.4m in a few (real) minutes.

On SC4, my biggest city was 35,000. I can't create larger than that because the game will always run slow. That was when I was a noob with the game, so it was really slummy.

BTW if you wanted pics of Rivermania, I'm sorry as I don't know to upload pictures. One helpful person gave me a series of steps but unfortunately it didn't work.

The largest in SC4 had 450,000 people. The largest in SC NES had 560,000 people. (You get a statue of Super Mario at the 500K mark)

The largest region I had was about 4.5 million, mostly living in the southern port area with about 3.7 million people in it's cities.

i had a dream the other night that someone posted one of those overly neat and tidy regions that had a population of a little over 1,000,000,000...and i replied, "what a crappy looking region, nowhere dense enough for that number. nice try at photoshopping."

^ You dork!

I'm still kinda hoping someone can explain to me how to post pictures of the game, I would like to do it without resorting to taking a picture of the screen.

I think I'm at about 2M region-wide and about 700k in one city, but my fav is the CO-only small map with over 260k CO (mostly CO$$$).

i know, i'm a dork.

there's the little camera button on the bottom bar in the game, but that makes bigass PNGs, so you'd have to later convert those to JPGs or smaller files.

you can also push "Print Screen" on the keyboard, hit ATL+TAB or the Windows key to minimize SC4, open MS Paint and paste the photo into it.

The claim for the title for the largest city by population on simcity 3000 without cheats is currently 4.5 million sims, at sc3000.com forums, which I happen to believe, is the world record so far.

The biggest city I made in SimCity3000 - 4.2 million. For SimCity 4 - 500'000

I havent played SC4 in a while, but that's because I'm at Uni; my laptop doesnt run the game, and I can only play it on the PC at home.

So I have resorted to taking SC3K to its limits.

Here is my city:

The city was constructed without the use of cheats, and is the biggest I have created in all. I built it in June 2006, but my external hard drive failed so I lost the city. I plan to reconstruct it in the future.

I am now working on a new megacity however, one that I hope will surpass the 4.5 million record when complete, without cheats. It is currently a top secret project, so I can't give away too much information

When I get the opportunity and the time, I would definitely love to work with SC4, and see how far I can go with that.
