All I wrote was 89,90 are the 2 floors they are working on. 90 is 1,130' + 8 or 10' splices. So 1,138' or 1,140'

I've been watching this go up for some time. I live and work in Manhattan, and was here on 9/11.

I doubt this will be a popular opinion, but I find this building to be utterly banal. Soulless, without personality or meaning, just an over-scaled generic office tower that could be found anywhere.

Childs should never have been let near this project.

That is exactly, what the complaints were, about the originals. Not everyone is going to be happy.

Nope and not everyone was happy with the originals either, in fact, most disapproved when they were built. The more i see of this the more i am a fan of it, i think it is just elegant and is perfect for the skyline. I was very skeptical but not any longer

In my opinion, Childs made it a lot better than Libeskind's original design.

Does anyone know why the glass is rising so quickly on the west side of the building?

I agree. I love the shape, the spire, and obviously the height, but I find the cladding completely boring. In fact, the cladding could not be more boring, as there is literally nothing special about it. Just blue. It's a shame, too, as 7 WTC turned out so well...

The spire/roof height debate is somewhere else, thanks.

Omg,If you look closely, you will see the Stage Door Deli. Stopped in there a few times during some rallys to re-build the Twin Towers. Good food and excellent sandwiches.

Yep that original was awful! It was basically a building 300 feet shorter than the originals with a 600 foot ladder stapled on the corner. I like this design but just wish it was taller or had a twin. It still seems like a timid response to me. However, this is still a great tower and if they build the other planned supertalls I think people will be pleased. Have a great day everyone!
