No, I was at Sweetwaters. But I was also busy trying to get the smoke out of my place since my neighbor's apartment had a small fire.

Thanks bnk for your info... Good to see at least some of these 19th century gems being saved after being scarred by fire.

We have a similar religious structure here in Utah that recently went up in flames where they're hopefully going to save the shell and rebuild:

I really like how this building is starting to loom over Clark Street. Its doing a lot to make the stretch of Clark south of Diversey feel even more urban and "canyon" like...

Hate to get OT, but I think it's interesting you mentioned that, considering I thought about this the other day. There's a tallish 1920's brick apartment building at Division and LaSalle (the one with the big mural). I always thought it would have been cool had all of LaSalle been lined with those buildings, creating a nice brick canyon.

Is it really looming all the way over to Clark? Isn't there a hospital building and a fair amount of mid rise's between 2520 and Clark Street?

I do like this building but only in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. I dont believe something like this would work as well in the downtown area but I think it works well with the classic "Old Money" look of feel of Lincoln Park!

In a nutshell...I like the change up from the modern glass buildings but I wouldnt want to see 5 or 6 of these pop up right now!

Yes it does. There are segments (like by the Children's Hospital Extension or whatever it is) where you can't see it, but for most of the distance from Diversey to Fullerton this building is making its presence known. Walk South along Clark from Diversey and you'll see what I mean.

I was just over there about the time you took this picture.

I noticed that the precast will be 3 colors. Beige-grey, beige-orange-, and beige yellow. Mmmmmmmmm

FYI, if you are west of Lincoln on Wrightwood, you can really see this building pop up.

Yea I noticed it is very dominating when walk down the west side of Clark as well. It will add nice density, but as for quality...

Found this today, I don't necessarily agree with the announcers comments, but some cool fly throughs.

I like the disclaimers at the end. "For illustrative purposes only" Yes, because we know how the real thing is looking....
