documentaries you want to see made in Vancouver

Hi, I am new to Vancouver, and don't yet know the area too well yet. I was wondering if any of you locals here have come across topics you would like to see made into documentaries here in Vancouver, or think would make a good documentary. I am planning to make one, and am currently browsing different subjects.

all the really good gritty stories will always be found in the DTES.

otherwise, do a documentary on the Bacon Brothers. Apparently, they have been released on bail and are "dying" to tell their side of the story.

Vancouver's superiority complex. It's not everyone, but some are.

Or... perhaps if this attitude has anything to do with Real Estate prices. That would be interesting. A bunch of interviews of what people think about the city and correlate them with Real Estate Values and see if there's any correlation. Lots of myths and truths to explore when it comes down to real estate in the city.

Some people argue large detached houses are necessary for raising a family. Others can't see themselves being able to convert to smaller size with family. With many families living in condos, apartments, and other smaller housing types, it would interesting to see how they live. Vancouver would be a great setting for this documentary. For those who live in the burbs this would be really informative.

My favourite never-made documentary is called:

"skinny-jean little sh!ts that know jack about real estate, but that doesn't stop them from wasting my time"

I second this one. Its a very good idea... maybe do some comparisons to families in other 'dense' cities in North America (New York?) and around the world?

A documentary on how urban planning has shaped Vancouver, from how view cones, height limits, DCLs, CACs, family housing requirement, etc etc have contributed to making Vancouver what we see today.

i would love to see a documentary on how Vancouver tops the lists on the most livable cities in the world, but showing the contrast on how there is nothing fun to do.

I think a documentary discussing the whole "Cascadia" concept would be interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascadi...ence_movement)

You wouldn't necessarily have to explore the concept of a new country but you could just look into how people in British Columbia have alot more in common with people in the North-West US than they do with most other Canadians.

The proposed borders on that wiki page are horrible.

I'd hate to be in a country with eastern Washington or Idaho. We have nothing in common culturally. I thought Cascadia was west of the Cascades/Rockies, where there is some commonality.
