Wait... The row of glass they were working on yesterday, did they finish that already? It's a completely new row? I counted the exposed floors... Still five, before you hit netting.

Yes it's a new row, looks like this is the last or second last full row they will be able to do before hitting the shaft on the side...which I assume will be raised in the coming weeks.

Well, that didn't work out. It flew back past the Statue on her west/back side so it wasn't on the Webcam

Wow!! They moved super-fast! Since they started up on glass again, I've noticed they usually get 2/3 of one side cladded one day, finish the other 1/3 the next day and then start on the other side. Color me impressed!

World Trade Center's main tower to be topped by state-of-the-art radio, TV broadcast facility

April 27, 2012
By Steve Strunsky

Quote:

Taking advantage of its 1,776-foot height, including a 408-foot antenna, the main tower at the new World Trade Center site will be topped by a state-of-the-art radio and television broadcast facility expected to generate $10 million a year, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said yesterday.

While the facility is technologically capable of sending signals farther than existing transmitters — deeper into South Jersey or Pennsylvania, for example — Barowitz said broadcast coverage areas are strictly regulated by the Federal Communications Commission, and cannot be expanded simply by employing a stronger antenna.

Port Authority Executive Director Patrick Foye said officials would try to take advantage of the expiration of several broadcast contracts at about the time the new facility comes online, by 2014. He did not say which broadcasters the new facility would target.

Late spring/early summer. Work has already started. They are installing the brackets the curtain wall will be hung on on the south side.
