There is no way they are going to build this schematic design. I would put money down that they are going to make it much more convention before they get to construction. Personally, I'm not a fan of architecture that tries too hard, and this looks like one of those pretentious designs. I'm not a fan of unconventional designs for the sake of unconventionality. An amorphus blob does not a good structure make.

this thing is somewhere between trying to hard (unconventional for the sake of it) and not trying hard enough (its a very lazy design, give me a piece of paper a pencil and 20sec i could design something just like it)
It makes me feel sad for the poor structural engineers who have to dedicate months and years of their lives to actually making this monstrosity work, and at the end of the day get paid considerably less than the architect who sketched it out before breakfast.

If it wasn't for the crop circle thing at the top I don't think it would be that weird. Of course the overall shape is very unusual but your eye is immediately drawn to the top and if anything were changed in this design I would bet that it would happen there.

I'm out, but then I don't like much of anything in Paris outside the Eiffel Tower. I am not a fan of organic buildings...especially if this is the shining example.
This tower is already approved and it will build but "Phare tower" will never be the highest tower of Paris. Generalli tower (318 m 1,043 ft) is approved, and will open one years before.
and a new tower (325 m 1,066 ft) is in project. (one meter taller than the Eiffel Tower )
In fact "Phare tower" will be the third tallest skyscraper in Paris

Well, I mean, Paris is just as important as any american city, but if this was to be proposed anywhere, I think a european city would be more equipped to take on a unique building like this. European skylines are more modern and futuristic then most american skylines because theyve had less time to grow up than american cities.

It is clearly too soon to tell. We know absolutely nothing about the building yet, but I still have the same feeling as you do. I don't know why.

This will become without a doubt one of the most controversial and exciting skyscrapers of Europe, or the world. I think the design is great, it's something special and innovative. A new gem which will enrich the already great architectural collection of Paris.
I don't like the building, but congrats anyways to the city of lights.
