Yes, that's part of the art walk. There will be installations like that along the length of it.

Piedmont Park launches expansion efforts

The conservancy kicked-off a campaign to raise $3.5 million for expansion, lighting installation on the active oval, and general landscaping and maintenance. Masterplan drafting starts this year.

These special crosswalks are all well and good and i know its part of the Art Walk, which probably has different funding sources, but i really wish Atlanta could get all of its cross walks and street lines painted.

Blue paint fades really fast. I’m afraid this is going to be high maintenance for whoever is maintaining it.

The new crosswalks looks very good but like someone else said could be high maintenance.

Concerning but the Rainbows on 10th & Piedmont hold up to MUCH heaver traffic. Although the Ped Xrossing on 10th & MARTA Midtown will see heavy traffic. Only time will tell.
