Of course I can hook you guys up, just head on over to our Edmonton location and tell 'em "Bigtime sent ya"!

Seriously though, Timbertown Building Centre Edmonton, 4840-99 St.

Anyone here in the shipbuilding business? I could really use a boat for Antarctica for mid-February '08. Pleeeeeeease!

I'm an urban studies student at the UofC who has interests in construction, architecture, planning, design, and municipal politics.

Photography is a side hobby.

I have worked with the Beltline Communities. I hope to be going for my planning degree a few years from now.

I work in the IT business. Not sure where my interest in skyscrapers came from.

I'm a Stormtrooper for the Galactic Empire. I'm responsible for approving the Deathstar in forest moon (community of Endor). Couldnt get Vader Developments and ewok nimbys to agree on the setback.

I encourage you all to join the Darkside... we're hiring!

Studying law at the university of saskatchewan. Undergraduate degrees in English/history and also international relations. My interest in the forum grew out of more general interests in immigration (worked for CIAS in Calgary), travel and procrastination.

I always wondered why "down" wasn't considered a direction.

Or is there truly directionless drilling? Just fire the sucker up and see where it goes?

Digital art is a hobby, but count me in the IT crowd. I'm a manager of an IP communications team.

Seems like everyone here is either in urban planning/architectural fields, or in IT.

BA in Urban & Regional Studies from the U of L. Too bad there wasn't enough Planning courses offered otherwise I'd be a planner. Work in manufacturing. Bit of a transit-geek.

I am a bike fanatic but have not impressed anyone enough to sponsor me so when I am not biking I work in IT. My interest in skyscrapers started during the last boom but back then there was no connection to folks like you to share it with.

Bigtime: Forget about trading hardwood for the green clipper canoe and take the Opus Scherzo beside it. At least I think that is an Opus, Is it 240glt ? I have an Opus Toccata and my wife has a Vivace. Opus make nice bikes.

Welcome to the Internet.

Poll: You're in a subject area-specialized website. You either work in:

A) said subject area
B) IT

Results: generally 50/50.

Finishing my degree in mechanical engineering at the U of C; from May '06 to August '07 I worked for a mechanical engineering consulting firm in Calgary (who shall remain nameless, but I'll give you a hint: I worked on Bow Valley College, the Roundup Centre expansion, Livingston Place, the second Crowfoot Business Centre building, Banker's Court and the Sheldon Chumir Centre, among others. Oh, and I filled in in a Jamieson Place meeting once. I mostly did tenant improvements though, in many buildings (Bow Valley Square, Fifth Avenue Place, 630 - 8th, Crowfoot Business Centre, Bankers Hall, Standard Life Bldg...)).

^^ Oh yeah, you planning to go back to ESA someday after you finish?

I uhh, work at the Marriott Hotel as a banquet server with an interest in architecture because of all the stuff going on in downtown. Love the tall, new modern and sustainable ideas we are finally waking up to. It builds my interest that much more.
And there are those of you who know me pretty well thru the meetups/shitface events. You know what I mean... (

Im also a student pilot ohh so close to get my Private Pilot License, but have been hampered with bad luck since October so lotsa no flying past few weeks. But studying currently for flight test hopefully before end of year.
I also a bigtime photographer specializing in Aviation. I am probably the most prominent photographer representing YYC so obviously planes and airport are of great interest as well as girls such as various tub tarts in nightclubs.
I have photos on both airliners and jetphotos.net and covered major events like 9-11, G8 summit, and Boeing 787 rollout.

My background is in Journalism/Graphic Design/Publishing although I'm biding my time as a delivery driver while living in Vancouver.

I first came to the forum to find out all the latest happenings going on in Calgary plus I have an interest in historic buildings and the preservation of such. This forum has been an excellent (read: the best) source of info on all things development or otherwise in the city.

I have been living in Vancouver since July of this year but I know I will be back in Cowtown one day again soon. I just needed a break from being in one spot my whole life.

Oh and I enjoy photography as a hobby and I'm a self proclaimed music nerd/snob/geek/former dj...

I guess I should've said what I do. I am a graduate student of planning in the faculty of environmental design at the UofC. The connections should be obvious.
