I heard somewhere there is a new jazz/blues club on Portage. Anyone know where?
In the old Soup Pierre I'm pretty sure...

Yeah, I would take the bus (as I have for years to Bombers games), but the other ST shareholders would rather carpool.

I left my house at 5:00pm and easily found a free parking spot on the street on Carlton St right beside the Convention Centre. As for the safety side, there were cops outside MTS Centre right after the game.

Yes. Great building, great vibe, light on the food selection - it's more of a cafe style joint, and the food is centered around west Indian/carribean foods

Important game v Pens tonight at 7:30. Toronto and Ottawa have easy games tonight so we can't afford to let them go 3 points up on us. Lets go get that W.

If the Jets played like they did last night, I think they can pull off a win. It seems the Jets are capable of defeating the best teams in the league, but have been somewhat inconsistent. I sure hope we can cap off a win before Christmas. It would be great to see the Jets in the 8th seed.

The Jets defeated the Buffalo Sabres tonight for a hard fought win in OT. That brings their record to 20-16-5 at the halfway point of the season, good for 9th in the Conference.

I am going to say we finsih the season with 92 points weather that's good enough for a playoff spot who knows but we will be in a dog fight right till the end of the season. Just hope Chevy trades for a skilled centre before deadline.

I'd love to see Bobby Ryan in Jets colours.

The only people I would like to see go right now are Thorburn and maybe Hainsey. But that is because I never really liked Hainsey, but I started out not liking O'Doya and he turned out well. Thorburn has to go though.

Hainsey is a rock. It would be counter-productive to deal him, not to mention, he is one of the few true vets (yrs of NHL experience + years of life experience), along with Antropov and Miettenen on the roster.

If you want to get something good you have to give up something good. Can't just list your least-liked players.

We have lots of decent defenseman, no? We'd have to give one or two of them up if we want to improve our forwards.

In Chipman's interview with the Free Press yesterday at the News Cafe, he referred somewhat vaguely to being excited about what having an NHL team will mean to the community. He said True North has "bold" plans that they will roll out in the coming months. Now he could have been referring to raising $ for charity, but those plans are already out there. He could have been referring to the Shark Club in citiplace, but it sounded like there is more to the plans than a single restaurant.

Yes. Some real good things ... think of it as a direction to go in.

Keep in mind, construction of the ALT hotel project starts this year...

Yes, but the tone of his comment was that there are plans still to be revealed. That's what has me excited. And the Chipmans have always said the Alt hotel project was not a result of getting the NHL.
BTW, when is demolition going to start on the Wild Planet bldg? Think it was supposed to start in Nov.
