Can I say that the photos are great! I really like them! Sadly, the Double Deck highway in some images makes it seem worse than St. Louis' Interstate Issue.

^ Fortunately the double decker freeway (the Alaskan Way Viaduct) will be torn down over the new couple of years and a waterfront promenade/park will take its place. Should be amazing once that concrete barrier is finally gone.

Looks like you were in Seattle when they were still experiencing hazy conditions from the smoke blowing down from British Columbia. Regardless, you caught some nice views. Always love seeing the ocean! I'm actually heading to Seattle next month for a little visit and I can't wait to be out & about exploring the changes in the city since my last visit 6.5 years ago.

There is a lot of construction going on in Seattle, especially in the medium density areas.
It's good to see that the viaduct will be torn down but I hope the replacement will work better. I was seriously disappointed with the lack of transit available for such a large city. When are you guys going to expand the monorail? Those monorail cars are beautiful and run so smoothly compared to the clunky ones in Las Vegas. Driving around in this city would have been a nightmare if I didn't have navigation in my car, traffic in the city gridlocks easily.

Ohioguy and anyone else that are visiting Seattle, I would advise you to avoid the Space needle as the lineups can be very long. Take the Smith Tower instead, beautiful views from an amazing skyscraper without the crowds!

When were you here, just out of curiosity? A ton has happened with public transportation the last couple of years. Nobody uses the monorail by the way, it's all about the link light rail.

The current link goes from Federal Way to the UofW station, while North gate opens 2021, followed by Lynwood in 2023. The Bellevue/East side extension opens 2023 as well! Tons of excitement.

Really? Our ridership is getting crazy high. The link light rail has been extremely popular and I imagine it will be one of the most used systems per capita once it expands north and 14 miles east to Bellevue/Redmond. Also for some reason it is the cleanest and most well maintained light rail system I've ever seen in the US. I'm not sure why but people don't seem to vandalize it or leave trash in the way they do elsewhere.

Great shots, I like that alley pic with the gum wall. Heading there soon with a hotel gift certificate, it's been 7 years! And I know Seattle has changed immensely since then.

I was in Seattle around August 11. I am not surprised that LINK transit would be very popular, the traffic in downtown is terrible it's so bad that you are better off walking instead of driving.

Take pictures with your smart phone and create more photo threads!

I was last in Seattle in 2006, and the light rail was still in its infancy, and it's good to see how much it's expanded since being there. Lazy traveler here, it's now tempting, fly into the Airport and take off from there in a train.
