The Westin Grand has completed its multi-million-dollar renovation project, and will be officially opening Hendricks on Mar. 1, following a soft opening beginning on Feb. 20. The 98-seat space will also function as a show lounge. Food and beverage programs will be overseen by executive chef Chris Savino and lead bartender Matt Houston. It will be open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. hendricksrestaurant.com

Where are the health inspectors?

Last inspection was June 7, 2016 with a follow-up 10 days later.

Astroturf tabletops were obviously installed more recently than that. I doubt a health inspector will be fine with this.

Hubbub on Cambie didn't last long. It was on the west side of Cambie between 7th and 8th Avenues. I took these pics a while ago as I was standing at the bus stop in front of Save On Foods.

Feb.27 '17, my pics

I used to hit that place for lunch at least once a week when I worked in Yaletown (early 2000s). Too bad...

Not sure if this was posted but something is finally going into the old New West Keg:

Quote:
KOB Franchise Enterprises Ltd. is proud to announce the opening of yet another location for Kelly/Carlos O’Bryan’s. The new location is situated at 800 Columbia Street in New Westminster, British Columbia. This heritage building was built in 1899 and was home to the CPR Train Station for decades. In 1973 The Keg opened in this historic building and closed in 2013 after 40 years.

If Craft opens up then I wonder if they'll have enough people to support two pubs and that old one inside the Skytrain station.

A co-worker said that Milestones Yaletown has closed.
The signage has been removed, so it doesn't look like just a change of franchisee - lease expiry, maybe?

This space has been taken over by a new restaurant client. Unable to say at this time who it is, but it's a well known (higher - end) group.

English Bay gone, Yaletown gone. Milestones is circling the drain like every chain Cara gets it hands on.

Italian Kitchen is going over to 860 Burrard so I guess they couldn't find terms with their landlord. If a restaurant can't afford $90 sq feet rent I guess we'll see new retail going in there?

The Don Francesco's location - that place has been around for a long time.

Not odd at all. A lot of local Vancouver restaurant/businesses are opening up in Lolo. Lots of new development going on and has a young demographic.
