The conceptual renders, as well as project scope has changed dramatically over the last several months.Groundbreaking/Ceremonial at the least, will occur on June 29, 2016.

Is this in Downtown? Where in relation and how far if not in?

^ pretty much a couple of blocks from the central business district.

River landing is the green space in comparison to the Gallery, and the business district is a short walk to the North..

Agreed. This project is a great complement to the adjacent Remai Modern:

A modern riverfront skyline is emerging for Saskatoon. If only the city was replacing the 1907 steel truss bridge to the immediate east of this site (partially visible in the renderings) with a contemporary landmark bridge, instead of a kitschy replica.

If it's built according to plans, then yes, absolutely.

The (shorter) east office tower of the River Landing project in Saskatoon is moving through the approvals process - to begin construction in 2017. The Alt Hotel/No. 1 river Landing condo component of the complex is already underway. The condo sold out in a whopping 4 days.

At this rate, the excavation of the condo and hotel towers will reach the bottom before Capital Pointe in Regina. Despite the other project having almost a year head start. (although, the excavation for Capital Pointe is deeper and on a more difficult site.)

The hotel/condo is expected to be above grade soon.

Excavation for the 13-storey East Tower (office) begins next month.

Forgive the poor iPhone photo quality, but this gives you a sense of the project's place in the cityscape. The red crane is adjacent to where the hotel/condo will rise on the site.

The Remai Modern is on the left.
