What is the street face of that parkade going to look like? I hope they do something creative with it, parkades are ugly!

Yeah it will probably be ugly.. On the other side, they have started putting a metal mesh cladding over the parking garage, so I assume it'll be the same on the street side. Floors 2 and 3 on the west expansion are combined into one extra tall floor, which will be a gym facility. I'm still hoping for retail along the street frontage 1st floor of the parking garage...

That parking garage has to be one of the most massive parking garages Ive ever seen. Does anyone know if that garage will be just for workers at this tower, or will anyone be able to use it? If so, this should give enough parking for downtown so they dont have to have anymore surface parking lots.

I'm pretty sure it will be a private garage, only for Devon employees. However, since all the Devon employees will be moving to this garage from other parking garages around downtown, more than 2,000 spaces will be freed up in other areas. There isn't really any surface parking in the Central Business District- The Devon site was the closest thing to a large surface parking lot in the business district, and it was actually an underground parking deck.

WE put some mesh cladding over a parkade here in Calgary and it basically looks like someone put chain link over the parkade. Basically it looks like crap, so hopefully it works out better for you guys. I'll try to find a picture.

I read in the paper today that a crane collapsed on site. How's that gonna affect progress?

It was a small crane (not the tower crane) and shouldn't affect progress. It's a good thing no one was hurt.

It appears that the ground floor of the garage will have retail space facing the street. Also the second and third floors will be a large fitness center with big windows overlooking.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We had our new tallest reduced in height also, but in the end it's a nice new tall building either way, same goes for this one.

Height reductions suck, but at least this one is still going ahead and is going to be your tallest by a good margin.

This will already stand out A LOT. 925 might have been overkill.

Maybe at first, but after a couple years the skyline would probably look weird without it, kinda like how NYC looks strance with out the WTC towers.

Really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. I'm kinda jealous of OKC, this building would look great in Calgary.

This is going to stand out similar as One Liberty did in Philadelphia.

I loved these pictures by Casey Cornett on Flickr:

And garage is open for parking to the 9th floor, almost finished.

Nice!!! I love the sight of tower cranes. Everytime I see one from a distance, I have to find it. Sometimes I will spend over an hour trying to find it. Similar to this past Tuesday.
