I was just playin around. OKC is a big city and can take the ribbing. We Tulsans honestly dont lose a terrible amount of sleep over the matter lol. Its a fluke that little ol Tulsa, the "second city" in the state has had the tallest. We look proudly on as our Capital city finally ends its long lasting and tragic shame.

But remember, we will still not be too shabby havin the states second tallest...

third tallest...

fourth tallest....

fifth tallest...

I'm sure there will be a celebration in OKC when they reach 667 ft. They will officially have the state's tallest building. Tulsa needs ONEOK or Williams to step up and build a new tower like Devon.

I work for the company building the tower and know several of the superintendents/project managers. I'll be making a trip down after they top out to take pics from the top, looking forward to it.

I hope the lesson was learned from EAP and no spandrel will be used for the mechanical levels.

Dame mang, that is sweet. This tower is going to look massive sitting there in the front of the city with nothing really surrounding it. I cant wait to see it in like 3 weeks!

Fall colors, beautiful sky, and our changing skyline in the distance... Devon is the nub on the right, about to be bigger than its neighbor Oklahoma Tower (that will make it our 4th tallest!)

BTW, crawled up the fire escape of an office building for this one...

Russian Sam is a scale model maker from St. Petersburg who posts on SkyscraperCity. He was recently invited to Oklahoma City to take part in the Creativity World Forum because of his work on a tiny paper model of our downtown, which you can find here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1088789

While he was here they gave him a helicopter ride around downtown, and he got some really great photos of the Devon Tower with our skyline- here are a few of the best ones of the tower from different angles, but check out the rest of his photos on his Flickr account here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44533223@N08/

Over Bricktown, looking Northwest (You can even see the Lake Hefner/NW Expressway skyline on the horizon)

Over the Film Exchange, looking northeast

Over the Film Exchange, looking east

Over Midtown, looking southeast

This tower will look sick there. Never been to OKC. Looks like the cities of the midwest, and I hope to visit someday to experience the city and see durant tear it up with westbrook- just don't beat the bulls again, please.

Awesome photo from architect5311 on OKCTalk.com

Also, how cool is this night photo from soonerjh on Flickr!? I have driven by the tower at night, the glass is very transparent and looks great lit up.

Holy cow the city is pretty small, with small 2 - 3 FL shops around the core of the skyline.
