Eh, this looks to be the big break. Will put out quite a few hotspots that are left.

Airport reopened to commercial flights today, that is another big milestone.

Ottawa is making an initial payment to Alberta of $300 million to help pay for firefighting costs and evacuee support. It is good to see them act promptly on this.

Fort Mac Wildfire estimated at 3.58 billion cost.

Sunday the fire was listed as under control.

A lot of money, no doubt, but a far cry than the $9B that an "analyst" from one of the big banks pulled from his ass the day after Ft Mac was evacuated, that was then pick up by the media and quoted as fact. I estimated $3B. I should call myself an analyst.

Thanks for the vid. The music was amazing. I like darker kind of brooding music (sometimes) was feeling that track hard!

Back in McMurray again yesterday. Nice to see things getting back to a relative normal. Most major restaurants are still closed but streets are busy again. The lineup at Tims is almost the same length as pre-fire lines. and the regrowth of the forest is out standing. Will post a couple of shot later.
