Parade of Lost Souls is back this year with a secret souls walk - they are trying to make it more secret and low key it seems http://publicdreams.org/ and make it like last years walk vs the big crazy parade of years past

Donnelly Group has 2 more mediocre lounges in the works. Jeff has too much money.

1) The Clough Club in Gastown, a dark spirit, whiskey and bourbon bar and
2) Bedfellows in Yaletown, your guess as to what that theme will be.

so the partner at 560 who is gay is no longer involved in the club and the 560 is no longer a gay friendly venue as it was and all and any gay events are now cancelled...

The one night I went in there, it seemed to be a straight night, with 90% asian people. Very nice club though.

This is a rumour. My partner works at the club and I can confirm this is NOT true. There is a new owner, but the club is owned by several people. Saturday nights are still gay and still busy.

I've heard alot of rumors lately.... so there must be some truth to the instability in the ownership.

I would understand if they move away from gay saturdays.... its gotta be such a money pit.

It's a great venue... but you can see lately they are seriously skimming back to save money. When they fired the coat-check people and started using the less desirable bar staff to check coats.... my ears perked up.

Great Venue.
Hit and miss staff.... seriously hire some great looking str8 DANCERS.... the current ones are a miss for these reasons.

- most likely you've "met" one of them in the past.
- having a fit body doesn't qualify you to "dance". Please be able to dance and not just "push the air" with your palms.
- interact with the crowd and be friendly, not attitude/bitchy

really? Why does it have to be such a money pit???

other than 560 on saturdays there is just celebrities, seems like the gays are being underserved. when a place like ottawa has more gay clubs than vancouver something is wrong lol

I don't see the fact that we only have a limited number of gay nights as a negative, I see it as a positive that we live in a city where we can all party together and no longer need the perceived safety of segregation.

Celebrities has gone downhill music wise, and lotus is closed now. Does anybody know of other clubs that play house music, besides Ginger 65 (awful crowd), and 560?

It's pretty limited.

Celebrities is a str8 crowd now... gays stay away.

The reason I said it was a money pit... Gays don't spend the money like str8's do when out at the clubs.

I think the next successful club will have to be outside the downtown core... prob east van ish... its just the business model isnt there to make enough money to stay DT.

I think you meant Ginger 62

There's also Red Room.

They shut the doors at 12 since nobody was going in...

I have to say social media plays a huge part in this... I was shocked how to it changed over a week peoples attitudes towards the place.

Ohh well... RIP 560 Saturday nights.
