If we are talking about viewpoints, I am right. T2 will hide T1 from the Brooklyn bridge. T2 will hide T3 from The Empire State Building. So, again, unless you see Downtown from Jersey City (another viewpoint), it won't have a "Huge impact" on the skyline for it will stand on the way of another existing big tower.
Make no mistake, I love T2 but as we have to wait for it, allow me to use what we call in French "La méthode coué" (it's a method of self-persuasion). It's simple, you just have to tell yourself again and again: "T2 is not that important, T2 is not that important...". It's a good way to wait for it without suffering.
To stay on topic and to summarize my thoughts, I really think that If T3 gets build anytime soon, it will really fill a hole from any viewpoints.
