anyone know if anything is happening with the Masonic Temple on Donald? This building has been in limbo for years, with all the new development around the area it surely must finally be economically feasible for redevelopment.

it's encouraging to see the residential rental conversion continue directly on Portage Ave with the Sterling Building, they are following the micro apartment trend with 64 units.

Rumors have it the Boyd building is next for residential redevelopment, currently there are medical offices occupying this building

What are your take aways from Winnipeg? the good, bad and really bad?

Good - active street fronts, conversions, food scene

Bad - more people out and about at night.

Really bad - the state of many buildings in the Exchange.

The Boyd building is such a beauty.

Loving all the old buildings really, Winnipeg looks more historical than Toronto.

Having heritage buildings is great...if they are renovated. Sadly, too many are deteriorating. I wish Winnipeg looked a little more like Quebec City, even Halifax.

winnepeg is on an old list of places to visit in north america (which is almost entirely canada now).

this immediately reminds me of kansas city for some reason. even got what appears to be remnants of an alley rail spur.
