I've heard that they aren't pouring more floors right now. I heard that from a concrete guy that works on other new high rises in the city. He didn't ask what the reason is - I'll try and get more info.

I'm going to go back a few pages and check the progress since Christmas.

go back to post #5209, January 10, pretty sure that's the first picture of the roof topped out & the last picture that showed much visible progress. Since then they've removed one of the cranes & piled some stuff on the roof but other than that it doesn't look any different today than it did then

From what I can tell, they've poured 12 floors in the hotel portion. That has not changed in at least five weeks. They've made some progress in the fireproofing.

Now I'm more curious.

But the atrium on the top of the building is already visibly built, even if it's just steel beams.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I expected there to be a long wait after the steel was topped out and the rest of the glass installed, but not one this long.

I really doubt they are adding any more floors since the other crane was taken down. Can't see how one crane can reach the other side to place the steel beams in place to make 4 walls.

Maybe they've decided to deconstruct the whole thing and start over with a good design.

In this set of photos that summersm provided, you can see work being done at the very top of the lantern. They have built it above the iron framing of the building now.

That is not the lantern, it is just construction elevators. They will be removed when the building gets closer to completion. You can see they have started to add steel to that side of the building though.

Thanks for clarifying. I do see the elevator cabs. So,
Is the lantern from the base of the bldg to the very top hidden behind the elevator cab support structure?

I saw what you're seeing in the photo when I was walking through University City earlier! Whatever they were lifting appeared to be steel. There is definitely action still occurring, both within and outside of the tower.
