We're supposed to get 40+ mph winds tomorrow and a high of 14F.

Its currently 9F with a windchill of -7. My blood has thinned out significantly after spending 15 years in Phoenix and Southern California.

I generally loathe Jeeps, but that's probably because 99% of Jeep owners only use them to get from their garage to the parkade underneath their office building.

I assume you'd be in the other 1% that actually utilizes the capabilities, so I guess I approve.

It's especially bad when 50% of the 99% have the same tires, but those tires never actually get used for what they were designed for.

I laugh at people who raided grocery stores for the storm. You mean to tell me you don't have enough food for 2 days?

My mom told me to buy groceries because she heard a storm was heading my way (I haven't heard anything about it though).
The pizza place down the street stayed open during the hurricane so I'm probably golden if we do get a storm.

Actually, I passed the grocery stores last night and they seemed like they were packed like Best Buy on black Friday. I went today, and they were empty and I didn't have to wait in any lines.

I didnt have enough liquor.

What always gets to me is the water shelves. Tap water isn't going to kill you people, and if worse comes to worse grab some snow and melt it, then boil it.

And I don't know about where you are, but, when it snows, that's some of the busiest times for bars and liquor stores. Everything might be closed, but you can always find an open bar or liquor store.

Generally the issue with tap water ends up being sewage backwash into the system during flooding. Pile on no power for a few days and having a bit of water on hand is a good idea.

But the food thing is ludicrous. There's always enough in my house for a few days. Even if I'm having to eat a <<shudders>> raw food diet.

Liquor is usually in short supply here. I just don't buy much of it. Usually only six or twelve beer every now and then. Being a cheap drunk has it's advantages.

You should always keep a gallon or two of water in the fridge. Just common sense.

There should be a law requiring all homes to have an emergency kit. It should be as common place as smoke and CO2 detectors.

It isn't enough to boil it. That just kills bacteria. There is stuff like car exhaust and industrial emissions in snow. It might not make you sick but it could slowly poison you with something.

I think pretty much everyone in my office was at the bars.

I should be buying water though. My water tastes like its 13 story journey, and if the faucet isn't turned on all day, will come out in a variety of colors

Haha! The other day we watched Rumble in the Bronx and Raquel had nightmares, so now I can't watch Jackie Chan movies before bed. I think it probably had something to do with the wood chipper.

I've had SSP dreams before too; vid was probably involved, but I don't really remember.
