Parisians originally hated the Eiffel tower. Anything radical and new is bound to cause controversy. Those of us who LOVE this building need to just keep saying so, and eventually the naysayers will realize how beautiful it really is.

Absolutely !!! I hated the building as soon as the project was announced.

However !! Since it's been inaugurated, I changed my mind !! I will very gladly agree with many others : it's one of the most amazing tower built in years !!

Of course it's changing London forever !! And with majesty !!

All the naysayers should just give up. London, along with NYC, is a co-economic capital of the world. London has to build up. This is a gem, and Londoners will eventually love it.

A jewel on display, just in time to showcase for the London Olympics.

The Gherkin and the Shard -- London now has its very own Empire State and Chrysler. And both are ushering in the new global, cosmopolitan London of the 21st century, much like the latter two did for NYC in the 1930s.

The 72-storey Shard London Bridge with an additional 15 roof radiator floors is being developed on the site of an existing 1970s office block bordering London Bridge station.

The only thing that's ugly is that hideous cluster of highrises around the Shard...

I didn't go to the olympics, but I did get tickets for the observation deck for the day it opens.

I think that this building is one of the best examples of smart modern architecture . I really like this building¡¡
London has become the head design.
By the way, what will be the tallest skyscraper in Europe, I thought it was this one¡¡¡

I want something like this for San Fransisco. It would really complement America.

In defense of those who don't like the tower, on a cloudy day it can look quite dark and drab.

Looks great from Waterloo Station

I took the Southwest Lines train from Waterloo to Surrey yesterday and was treated to a wonderful view of the Shard from afar. It really stands out and is quite elegant. I took a somewhat blurry picture from the moving train and would post it here if I knew how.
