Carnegie 57 cam

This building is fast. Looks as if another floor is about to start. It will only get faster once that crucial setback arrives on the eastern part of the building.

The good thing is we have at least a month or so before the leaves on those trees start to come back and block views of the construction. At this pace, it should rise another 4 floors or so.

For some reason the 'Carnegie 57 cam' doesn't work, but ANOTHER floor has started. For now going forward we will see FAST PACED CONSTRUCTION. 1 floor every 2.5 days.

AS MUCH AS I LOVE THIS BUILDING, THERE ARE TOO MANY DIFFERENT CLADDINGS GOING ON. ONE IS SUPER REFLECTIVE (MIRROR), ONE IS CURVY, ONE LOOKS LIKE A WATERFALL. THEY SHOULD'VE STUCK WITH STRIPES ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH FACES. AND WATERFALL CLADDING ON THE EAST AND WEST FACES. IT'LL STILL LOOK GOOD IN THE END NONETHELESS. (Massive update).

In a way, the mirrored side makes it less dominant from the Park and helps it fade into the sky... On the other hand, the intention was perhaps to allow clear unobstructed views over the park from the inside. The darker cladding may have hindered that in some way, I don't know.

But the mirror cladding certainly helps the base fit IN on the 58th Street side, it looks like any other OLD building. Regardless this building is fantastic, and I hate to nitpick (on the subject of essentially FOUR different claddings).

'Carnegie 57 cam' STILL not working, BUT the building ROSE again. It's about to surpass the Metropolitan Building, on the cam. It JUST rose yesterday evening, so either I'm seeing things or this is completing a floor every TWO days.

I think (hope) it will be more coherent when the glazing gets higher up.

They just finished another floor on this building. Tomorrow another floor should start. It's about to eclipse the Metropolitan Building on the cam (to give you an idea of how tall this building currently is).

Well, the Metropolitan Tower is 716 feet, so I would say One57 is at a mere 650 ft.

I can't wait for the protective layer to be removed from the left side of the picture.

Do you think this beauty when completed can be seen from my neck of the woods, which is from The Rockaways in Queens?

If seen from the correct vantage point (ie.) then YES. See below.

From this pic taken from Far Rockaway, Queens it will be seen.

The 'Carnegie 57 cam' STILL doesn't work, but it rose AGAIN today. They should top out in 3 months.

This thing is so fast. It'll probably be going 2 floors a day when the next setback starts. I can't imagine how fast 432 park will rise since its thinner than this i think.

They're close to floor 51/52, because last month construction was stalled for 4 weeks, when they were stuck on floor 47 (mechanical floor), and they've completed 4-5 floors since then.

But the thinner the building, the more logistical challenges there are. But after the next setback this thing should fly like a rocket (not that it already isn't).
