I hope not, but its been vacant for years with little to no attention. I know that Memphis Heritage has tried to push for improvements to take place, but the current owner doesn't want to put forth the money, the city doesn't necessarily have the money, and the future owners won't take over until 2025, and as you know a lot can happen to a vacant building in 13 years. The next problem is what it would become. Memphis isn't experiencing the push to move downtown like Nashville is, and there are already 3 or so hotels soon to break ground in the next few months to accommodate the visitors from the new Bass Pro Showroom over at the Pyramid. Its going to take multiple developers working together and having an extremely mixed use development to turn it around.
It originally was white, but I think its beautiful like it is, but then again I've never seen it white. I have a friend who went in and took photos about a year or so ago, its a pretty cool place inside right now. I actually think there's an episode of ghostbusters or w/e that show is on Discovery or TLC that features the Sterick Building if you want to get a better feel for what its like on the inside.
