Ilhabela - brazilian Mônaco

Ilhabela is 200km from São Paulo and is the favorite destination of brazilian millionaires. In 40-minute iby helicopter is possible to leave the office in metropolis and landed in paradise.

Map

This almost equilateral triangle shows very well the proximade of São Paulo, Campos do Jordao (cold mountain region) and Ilhabela

You need to take a ferry, the crossing time is 20 minutes

My hotel

The island has a total wild side and another part which concentrates hotels, resorts, yacht clubs and the historic center. 90% of the area is protected by the Serra do Mar State Park - UNESCO World Patrimony

To meet the most remote beaches is need to take a jeep or go boating

Fome Beach

Castelhanos beach - old pirate port

We took a jeep to get inside the park, there is an old community caiçaras (natives) and several trails to waterfalls, lookouts and other beaches.

These are some photos that I found to the most famous beach and perhaps most impressive, Bonete:

If you come to Brazil surely worth knowing Ilhabela, perhaps the only city in the Brazilian coast that has a similar to the 'developed world' standard. The city is super safe, has no socias problems and developed throughout the continental side leaving the other side all preserved and wild .. is one of the places where you can be stranded on a deserted beach day and dinner at a good restaurant at night .

A pity is that the roads are not as good as the rest of the state, SP prides itself on having some of the best roads in the continent .. but on the north coast this pattern is only coming now. With the work planned for 2020 you can drive out of the city of São Paulo and get Ilhabela in 2 and half hours .. now the time is over 3 hours! It has been made a part of the new road, but it will only be ready in full in 4 years.

The ferry to Ilhabela is the end of this road, at the port of San Sebastian. A new road in the mountains (Serra do Mar) does not appear, but it is an important work

Road to Vale do Paraíba

Road to São Paulo
