I think we will survive. The amount of construction activity that a city the size of Austin is experiencing is phenomenal and most cities our size or similar most likely jealous.

That oddity of architecture will look so surreal from the mopac bridge! It will be like a Svengali!

It is starting to be visible from the Mopac bridge. It should look quiet impressive in a few months time.

Took this earlier today from i35, then added in the Independent later.

NICE!! The three others u/c should pretty much seal the deal for that section of dt. This is beyond anything I could have imagined 20 years ago. Who would have thunk it? Still not that crazy about the upper offset of the Indie. Its too subtle.

This is not my favorite view of downtown. The southeast views of Northshore and 500 West 2nd make them look so awkward together. 360 looks strange with them as well, and the Independent looks weird there, too. Plus, all those midrises in the foreground along I-35 just look so hodge podge. I'm hoping 70 Rainey and 48 East shake things up a bit. The Fairmount is a nice distraction. lol

It's views like this one that remind me that Frost should have been taller.

Thanks!! 5th & west is one that I'm definitely looking forward to in that area. I think Austin already has a major city skyline, and that's never been a valid statement until recently.

I'm loving the view from the observation hill there. It's really coming along. I can't wait to see how 3rd & Shoal and Austin Proper look.

I was downtown yesterday and walked past...it's really starting to make its presence known. Also, I was happy to see that The Independent won't completely block The 360 from view when traveling on Mopac past downtown. I know its been said before, but I happy to see how relatively skinny the tower will be.
