CRCHUM 14 Noc. 2012 (mes photos)

I know opinion on this monster is polarized, but I like it. Clean, modern, imposing.

and again, there's black brick involved. I'm a new fan of black brick!

What a shame this building. Maybe worst than the new Palais de Justice.

It is both extremely ugly and kind of cool looking at the some time.

It's easier to accept its ugliness when viewed as an urban laboratory rather than an office tower.

Looks like a municipal bomb shelter. Vomitrocious. But Robertpuant's comment made me feel a little better....

What sucks is that it would have been a beautiful above-par building had it had nicer cladding. It's so freaking large.

It's just that it's in such a prominent location, tourist ground zero! Not a good advertisement for the city. It's so big, if it looked great it would have done lots for the city brand. I'd be fine with it looking this way if it were in griffintown or somewhere, but right where the old port meets chinatown and the convention centre? Ouch. I thought it was going to turn out to look a little less painful.

I was a staunch defender of this building until I got to see it from Quai Jacques0cartier at igloo fest last week. The most vulgar part is the ventilation and mechanical gizmos on the roof top. hideous. You'd think they would cover that up.

The cladding also sucks balls. Bleh. Though I'm quite keen on its northern facade.
