40' Steel! Each section of the cranes black mast is 20' I think these columns are on the splices at floor 104 or 1,313' or with splices 1,317'+ 40'=1,357'

Guys, is that long column (2 beams) seen in Carlos' pic - is that going to be the roof level, or the top of the building before the communication ring?

From the panynj webcam? This tower wasn't above street level in 2007, I don't know what you are talking about at all.

Just a guess, but those beams might be for distributing the load from the mast guys. It's not like you can just screw eyebolts into the roof for those suckers.

Somewhat off-topic, but as I was looking at the EarthCam pointed at the base of 1WTC, I noticed that the Winter Garden entrance facing the WTC is boarded up with what appears to by plywood.

A few questions: Has is been like that since it was restored after the 9/11 attacks, or is this a recent change in preparation to re-install some sort of bridge? And if so, what exactly are they going to put in?

It has, but they are building a mall underneath the World Financial Center and that is why it is boarded up. Once it's done the people that own the World Financial Center hopes it can rival the mall in the World Trade Center.

My guess is the upper splices on these beams are at the roof slab level? (1335')
