It's hard to tell from Otie's diagram, but those extra heavy core to perimeter beams look like they kind of serve the purpose of a modified hat truss. I knew they'd need something like that to transfer mast wind and quake lateral mast loads to the perimeter through the guys, although the core takes the gravity load. Probably need it for all the machinery up there too.
