Man, this tower doesn't seem as tall as it actually is because of the surrounding towers. But it's cool to see the square sides of the taper get smaller and smaller.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was sort of thinking too. Maybe if all the towers were the same height like the twin towers, but all of those 3 super tall skyscrapers with different heights just look crazy.

Hundreds of concrete workers walked off the job at the World Trade Center site Monday one month after their contract expired.
While the strike affects 1 WTC (formerly Freedom Tower) the Port Authority insists the work stoppage will not affect the 9/11 Memorial, which is slated to be finished by the tenth anniversary of the attacks.
"It's a horrible situation, you know? We built this city and they want to take money away from us, in this bad economy," John Hardt of the Cement and Concrete Workers Union told NY1.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the strike may affect more than just the tower.
Quote:
Without concrete workers, work cannot proceed on part of the World Trade Center's transit hub, according to a person familiar with the matter. Other construction tradesmen continued work at the site on Monday, but a prolonged work stoppage could affect their work if they need concrete to proceed, according to that same person.
i don't know what they want, i mean they get paid $40/hour. those union workers need to do their job!

“Office buildings are our factories – whether for tech, creative or traditional industries we must continue to grow our modern factories to create new jobs,” said United States Senator Chuck Schumer.

I still can't believe how large it looks at it's current height. By large, I mean how wide it looks. It still looks massive at floors 74-76. I guess it will look smaller by the time it gets into the 90's, but now it's still so massive. It's also amazing the glass is almost up to the height of 7wtc.
