The core is about a quarter of the way up.

Seems like a pretty simple building overall, so it'll probably go up fast. I'd assume most of the cool twisty cladding is going to be very superficial.

I doubt it can be done that way without having poured floor plates that "twist" in the same fashion but that needn't take any more time to build than floor plates that all overlap one another.

I walk by this every day on the way to work. About two or three levels are fully poured. To me, it looked like there is indeed going to be a twist right from the get go. You can definitely see the triangular protrusions where the windows will go.

I'll take a closer picture tomorrow on the way to work if I remember.

indeed, you can especially see the twisty pattern on the protrusions on the right side in the pic

This has been officially named Mira.

Tishman Speyer named its latest condo project Mira, which means "to look" in Spanish, amid a wave of new housing hitting San Francisco's Transbay District.

I appreciate the explanation, but the names seem to be getting ever sillier.

Kind of sounds like someone's mother or maybe ex-wife. Could Jean Gang have a girlfriend?

I think it's fitting in a city (let alone the state) dominated by Spanish history. The Castro. San Francisco. The Mission. Mira is literally "look."

She’s probably going to be snooty to Jasper since she’s better looking.

The rendering on the web site doesn't appear to show a "masonry tiles" facade as originally promised. I'm looking forward to seeing the exterior

The aesthetic success of this building is contingent upon high quality materials selected for the exterior façade. Crossing my fingers they knock this one out of the park.
