The area will look fantastic when all is set and done. Now that WTC3 is rising without fail, WTC2 hopefully will follow. I'd be nice to see a tenant land there, and have both rising. Wishful thinking, but I'd hope it can happen in the next couple of months.

In terms of this tower, its really going add to the gap between tower 4 and 1 from certain angles. 99 Church also really complements the site.

what? The PATH station doesn't even cross Greenwich St. let alone vent out of the side of 3 WTC.

The first set of mechanical floors before the trading floors are solely for the Transit Hub infrastructure. This is why it was built only up to there before going on hold.

This will make the view from Jersey so much better. Once this starts making an impact in the skyline, it will finally look like a complex instead of 4 looking like a loner in need of a friend.

According to Calatrava, the architect who designed the terminal for the PATH station right next door (the thing with the white spikes) he was unwilling to compromise the design of the terminal so all of the ventilation was moved to 3WTC. You may be thinking of the temporary path station.

All of the towers are directly connected to the terminal/mall and have aspects relating to it, which is why even tower 2 had to be built up to street level. There is also access through these buildings that will be required when the station opens, including tower 2.

NYGuy, BB is reporting that News Corp/21st Century Fox are in discussions with Silverstein to anchor 2 WTC. Kindly unlock that thread and post?

For clarity, story was broken by the NYT, showed up on my BB terminal at work. Article states that News Corp looked at Related's HY and passed, but from the sound of the article negotiations are well past preliminary discussions, as "both sides are spending an enormous amount of time and money assessing the feasibility" of transitioning the trading floors into TV Studios.

2 WTC is locked, so I posted it here.. News Corp and 21st Century Fox looking at 2 WTC for their new headquarters!!!

YESSSSSS!!!!!! (:

Link and part of the article from the NY Times is below-

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/11/ny...e-center-site-

News Corporation and 21st Century Fox, two giant media companies controlled by Rupert Murdoch, are considering building a joint headquarters in a new 88-story skyscraper at the World Trade Center, real estate and government officials said this week.

If a deal is struck, the move by the companies from Midtown Manhattan to a new tower downtown would complete the rebuilding of the office complex destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001. It would also solidify the transformation of Lower Manhattan into a technology and media hub and a lively residential community.

The companies, which include Fox News Channel and The Wall Street Journal, have been in discussions for months with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the developer Larry Silverstein, who has the rights to build the fourth and last office tower at the site, known as 2 World Trade Center, according to the real estate and government officials, who asked not to be identified because the deal had not been finalized.

“This move would establish media hegemony in Lower Manhattan,” said Mitchell Moss, professor of urban planning at New York University. “News Corp. and Fox are in everyone’s living room. It removes any uncertainty that the new trade center would be a major economic engine, and it validates the 15-year effort to rebuild the World Trade Center.”

News Corporation and 21st Century Fox would require a substantial revision to the long planned 2 World Trade Center, at the corner of Vesey and Greenwich Streets, which was designed by the British architect Norman Foster. The companies want the base of what is now a cruciform-shaped tower with a diamond crown to accommodate television studios.

NY Times, Bloomberg, and Crains are now reporting that News Corp and 21st Century Fox are possibly approaching an agreement to occupy 2 WTC as their respective world HQ.

Where is that 2 WTC thread? It looks like all the media companies are coming to Lower Manhattan/WTC area. Conde Nast, Daily News, Time, McGraw Hill, smaller companies like Playboy, Newsweek, etc. (as well as all the new media companies like Huff Post, Daily Kos, etc.).

Looks like they are attaching some white crane support boxes, but it's all separated panel pieces. Is this for the new crane to be installed?

^That's the climbing section that has to be assembled around the existing tower crane. Prepare for a jump soon.

Here are those crane segments we've been waiting for. The crane should jump pretty soon.
