all these tall buildings next to giant convention centeres and 5 story malls the size on manhattan is simply anti-urban.

Doha is in the middle of the desert... it's hotter than Phoenix. It can't be urban.

Last night I talked with someone who is working on this project. He informed me that they are still tweaking the final design, and the exact height is not official yet. He said the floor count has been floating between 104 and 111. The good news is that they have started excavation, and there could be an even taller project for Doha in the near future.

I have it on a reliable source that they are driving piles for this building. . . Murphy Jahn designed. . . Concrete up to 102 / 426 meters. . . Steel up to 551 meters. . . Emporis listed U/C. . .

I always liked this design(on all those towers)! I'm glad it's going up.

Right, it sure is. What's your point? Did anyone here make a case for this complex being the epitome of urbanity? Or is it only acceptable for highrise buildings to rise in very dense urban clusters?

This reminds me allot of the Burj Dubai the way it is a supertall out in the middle of nowhere.

Great design, I like Russia tower and this one is nice as well.

It looks like the top 130 meters or more is just filler. What is the point? Are there wind turbines or water tanks or something useful up there?

Is this under construction yet? If not, I'm going to move it to the proposal section.
