Yeah I was trying to figure this out today. It looks as though it actually might be higher than the front when looking North, but looking south, it looks like it's running behind.

BTW facade scaffolding is gone.

I apologize for the quality of the photo, but I wanted to share this odd portion of the building. It looks like they are putting in CMUs in this section. I assume because it will be facing the Auditorium Theatre, they didn't feel the need to make it glass. Still seems out of place...

Thanks for this rarely photographed angle. Helps to visualize it better

Not exactly. That section will be clad in grey-black precast panels the same color as the north side, but smaller and with a different, brick-like pattern. Since the individual precast panels can't span from one floorplate to the next, they need a backing wall of CMU for structural support. You can also see the interior layer, which is a light-gauge steel framing where insulation and utilities can run.

Page 1 of this thread says there is a proposal for another building that would effectively block the entire north view if it was glass.

People will be able to get some fantastic images of the congress hotel sign against that backdrop of glass.

^ Ahh, some new pics from the park. Looks great. There are about 16 floors remaining to clad - I wonder how many more weeks that works out to?

What is the current rate of construction on this building and when can we expect the cladding to reach the top floor?

Here are a couple screenshots from the webcam from last week, 6-22-11.

And here's a shot from my trip back from the Taste today.
