Smile NEW YORK | Bridges to Cross

I've been seeing a lot of nice bridge photos lately, with nowhere specific to post. I'll share them here:

I have to say that aside from the Brooklyn, GW, and perhaps the Manhattan, many forget the numerous bridges in New York City (which is essentially the suspension bridge capitol of the US if not the World). Not to mention the numerous amount right outside the city in Jersey.

Many also typically get the Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck, and Verrazano confused for all the same one.

I've also had people confuse the Bayonne Bridge for the Hellgate.

All in all I never take for granted the bridges of New York City.

Outside of skyscrapers, the bridges are probably my favorite thing about the city. Not just for the variety, but for the way the city is "tied" together. Riding around the city at night, you can catch glimpses of one bridge or another, and they all seem to sparkle.

Seems there's always a birthday or anniversary for one of these bridges. But anyway, happy 100th Birthday to the Manhattan Bridge...
