I took a day trip to Toronto today to get some photo updates and I arrived in the middle of a blizzard! Here they are, sorry for the quality.
All pix by me.
koops65, thanks for braving the elements to get pictures for us. Your last shot shows how the granite adds both texture and depth to the facade. Should make for a nice sidewalk experience with the illusion of offset columns. Helps break up an otherwise flat wall.

If you ask me, the granite and cladding remind me of every building in Vancouver. Hopefully I'm wrong about that in the outcome.
Maybe (i can't be sure cause i don't live there) but i have faith in this one... And it will look a little more special in Toronto than it would in Vancouver!... its something the city doesn't see too much!...
Wondering if the slow climb is due to use of the best of building materials. BA went up quickly with only a concrete core and an all steel/glass shell. Trump is all concrete to this point. Perhaps there's more detail involved, being a luxury building. I work close to both sites and followed the progress of each.
The one thing bugging me about Trump is its location. Seems crammed in a small lot, and for luxury, the sightlines won't be the greatest with BA, SP, and FCP surrounding.
Trumps location does have plenty of disadvantages (small lot, jammed between skyscrapers, horrible traffic, etc...). But i think Trump fits in very nicely and makes the very most out of the lot!....
SO many pieces of cladding now!... I've gotten used to it and i have to say its sweet!... I love this building
I think Trump is in a perfect location. Surrounded by other skyscrapers, in a vibrant downtown, and also is a great addition from all ends! BTW, the more I see this tower rise the more impressed I become!
These colours for cladding stand out SO much from street level!!!... so hard to resist lookin at!!!!!
Look how many pieces we have now!!!
This is the best cladding I've seen in a very long time. 550 Wellington Street West is the only other cladding as good as this. Trump Tower is going to look dynamite. I would have fallen asleep if we had to endure another plain glass facade like exists across the street!
