Earlier this week they started installing the crane for The Beacon which will be built on top of the current parking structure at 515 Euclid.

Nice to see some cranes in the air over Cleveland again!!!

Going to try and clean up the first page before the holidays come around but I've updated a few of the bigger projects that are underway (Beacon, One University Circle, Centric, etc.). I know I'm missing a few but all in good time

I normally dismiss chatter but according to some industry insiders, Cleveland may have two more tower cranes going up this spring. Here's hoping

Church and State project at West 29th and Detroit -160+ apartments in two buildings (11 and 5 stories). Rendering by LDA Architects:

Playhouse Square apartment tower at East 17th and Euclid Avenue - 319 units, 34 floors. Rendering by SCB Architects:

So the 396'/34 floors tower at East 17th and Euclid will be named "The Lumen" in homage to theater lighting; apropos since it will sit directly across from the bulk of the Playhouse Square theaters. The ceremonial groundbreaking was today - if construction keeps a schedule similar to other projects we should see a tower crane in the fall.

Down Euclid Avenue at East 6th, The Beacon is making its way into the skyline:

As I've moved my website to a different host, most links on the first page of this section no longer work - it was due for a rework anyway. With that, here's a few things going on:

Case Western Reserve University Health Education Campus:
Located at the Cleveland Clinic, $515,000,000 facility:

May Company Building
Former department store being redeveloped by Bedrock-Detroit into over 300 apartments:

Edge32 Apartments
60 unit apartment building located between Ohio City and Detroit-Shoreway neighborhoods - completed:

The Beacon
19-story tower being built on existing parking garage, final height of 355'.

One University Circle
20-story apartment tower in University Circle - recently completed:

I'm planning a more in-depth update, but nice to see Cleveland now has two tower cranes in the CBD

The project as a whole isn't dead, but the 647-foot design has likely been scrapped for something smaller.

^Correct. To the best of my knowledge, it's still alive but going through redesign and of course getting the financing package together. I definitely won't shed a tear if the horizontal hotel component was scrapped - it just seemed so haphazardly slapped together and no doubt significantly bumped up the engineering and construction costs.

The redesign for nuCLEus was briefly posted on Stark's website before being taken down again. SSC user DougalMcDougal found a link that still has the new renders: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GE-...4CZSJ2JIh/view
